Security hole could let hackers take over Juniper Networks PTX core routers

A critical vulnerability has been discovered in Juniper Networks PTX series core routers, which could allow unauthenticated attackers to gain root access and execute code. This flaw is particularly dangerous because these routers are central to network infrastructure, enabling potential data interception, traffic redirection, and access to adjacent networks. Juniper advises immediate patching to Junos OS Evolved version 25.4R1-S1-EVO or later, or implementing firewall rules and disabling the affected service as temporary mitigations.
