[Caixin] On March 15, 2026, International Consumer Rights Day, the China Internet Finance Association issued a “Risk Warning on the Safe Application of OpenClaw in the Internet Finance Industry,” reminding users to be aware of four types of risks: fund loss, transaction liability, data compliance, and new scams. It recommends that financial consumers exercise caution when installing OpenClaw; be vigilant against financial scams under the guise of “shrimp farming wealth management” and other names; advise industry institutions not to install OpenClaw on terminals unrelated to financial services; and include OpenClaw and other intelligent agents in the scope of information security management for industry institutions.

Recently, the open-source AI agent OpenClaw (“Lobster”) has seen a continuous rise in downloads and usage. This intelligent agent typically defaults to obtaining high system permissions and can directly control computers and other terminals based on natural language commands. Recently, the Cybersecurity Threats and Vulnerabilities Information Sharing Platform (NVDB) of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Internet Emergency Center (CNCERT) have issued related security risk alerts.
