US Refueling Planes Get Damaged at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base
(MENAFN) Recent reports indicate that five US Air Force refueling aircraft were struck and damaged on the ground at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base.
Officials confirmed that the tankers were harmed but not destroyed, and repairs are underway. No casualties have been reported in connection with the attack.
The damage occurred during an Iranian missile strike on the base in recent days, according to sources, while US Central Command has not provided comment on the incident.
This event raises the total number of US Air Force refueling planes damaged or destroyed since the US and Israel initiated operations against Iran on February 28 to at least seven.
The report follows a separate incident on Thursday in which two KC-135 tankers collided, causing one to crash and resulting in the deaths of all six crew members on board, according to Pentagon statements.
Iran has continued targeting US personnel and military equipment at regional bases in retaliation for “Operation Epic Fury.” Earlier, a US service member died after sustaining serious injuries during an attack at the Saudi base on March 1.
