Alibaba Establishes Token Hub Business Group, CEO Wu Yongming Takes Direct Responsibility

Phoenix Technology News, March 16 — Alibaba officially established the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group, creating a new organization focused on “creating tokens, delivering tokens, and applying tokens,” directly led by Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang.

It is reported that this is an important organizational adjustment by Alibaba in response to the AI Agent era, with the Token Hub as the core, strengthening AI business strategic coordination, and fully promoting Alibaba’s AI strategy implementation.

The Alibaba Token Hub includes Tongyi Laboratory, MaaS Business Line, Qianwen Business Department, Wukong Business Department, and AI Innovation Department, covering the complete layout from foundational model development and model service platforms to AI applications for individuals and enterprises.

Among them, the Wukong Business Department appears in the public eye for the first time, positioned as a “B-end AI native work platform, deeply integrating model capabilities into enterprise workflows.” This means that, in addition to the C-end AI application Qianwen App, Alibaba will also focus on the B-end AI application market.

Dear Alibaba Team:

We are currently on the eve of an AGI explosion. A vast number of digital tasks will be supported by hundreds of billions of AI Agents, which will run on tokens generated by models, becoming the main carriers of human interaction with the digital world.

Facing this historic opportunity, the group has decided to officially establish the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group, creating a new organization centered on “creating tokens, delivering tokens, and applying tokens.”

The Alibaba Token Hub Business Group is directly led by me, strengthening strategic coordination across AI businesses, reshaping work methods with AI, and maintaining an agile organization. The specific businesses include:

● Tongyi Laboratory: Creating leading multimodal models, continuously pushing the limits of foundational model capabilities, providing the most advanced models for the group and industry.

● MaaS Business Line: Building an efficient, open model service platform and technical system to support the entire industry’s AI ecosystem.

● Qianwen Business Department: Developing the best personal AI assistant.

● Wukong Business Department: Building a B-end AI native work platform, deeply integrating model capabilities into enterprise workflows.

● AI Innovation Department: Exploring various AI innovative applications, rapidly validating new models and markets.
