G7 Leaders Discuss Middle East Situation in Call UK Prime Minister: Cooperation Needed to Address the Impact of the Conflict

According to the UK Prime Minister’s Office, on March 11 local time, G7 leaders held a phone call to discuss the latest situation in the Middle East and how to respond to the economic impact.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that countries should work together to address the economic effects of the conflict, welcomed the decision by International Energy Agency member countries to release strategic oil reserves, and reiterated the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
