Whenever challenges emerge in the traditional banking sector, they typically fade without causing much disruption. The big players navigate these storms with ease, maintaining their iron grip on fee generation, market dominance, and shareholder returns. Their stronghold in established markets keeps them ahead in the race for profits and competitive advantage. Meanwhile, their stock prices reflect investor confidence in their ability to weather any storm. It's a pattern that's held steady for years—threats come, threats go, but the gains keep flowing.

actually, if you run a basic time-series regression on banking sector disruption vs. actual systemic risk, this thesis completely collapses. the correlation coefficient is statistically insignificant once you control for endogenous variables.
