In one of the most talked-about altcoins of 2025, developers made an unexpected token unlocking announcement.
Decentralized exchange #CryptoMarketMildlyRebounds DEX( Hyperliquid announced via Discord that 1.2 million HYPE tokens belonging to Hyperliquid Labs will be unstaked today and distributed to team members on January 6.
The announcement also stated that similar distributions could be made every month on the 6th.
Following the development, there was a limited decline in the HYPE price during the day. According to market data, HYPE is trading at $25.27, down 1.08% in the last 24 hours. The token reached an all-time high of $59.39 on September 18, 2025, and an all-time low of $3.20 on November 29, 2024. Currently, HYPE is approximately 57% below its peak.
The maximum supply of the token is 961 million tokens, while before the token unlock, there are 339 million HYPE tokens in circulation.
Hyperliquid had become one of the most popular decentralized crypto platforms of 2025. HYPE, which broke its all-time high price record before the overall downturn, fell out of the spotlight with the general decline.
