【BitPush】LayerZero ecosystem has some new developments. The foundation just concluded the third round of voting on the “Fee Switch,” and the results are interesting — the quorum was not reached. In other words, participation was still insufficient, so the protocol’s fee switch remains turned off.
What does this mean? Simply put, the voices of ecosystem participants in this decision are still not sufficiently concentrated. The voting didn’t fail because of opposition, but because of “absence.” The foundation has decided that the next vote will only take place after six months.
For protocol operation, this also serves as a signal — governance participation is a long-term issue that needs to be addressed. How to increase voting engagement and get more people involved in ecosystem decisions might be something LayerZero needs to consider. The six-month interval also provides ample time for discussion on whether this feature truly needs to be activated.

Insufficient number of voters? Haha, to put it plainly, no one cares. Vote again in half a year, and by then there will already be new hot topics. This routine is old news.

Insufficient number of voters, this is a bit awkward. It feels like the true reflection of Web3 governance—everyone is shouting loudly, but when it comes to voting, no one shows up.

Insufficient number of voters, what does that mean? The community doesn't care at all, they're all just watching the coin price.
LZ, this governance effort is indeed a bit awkward, voting again in six months, it feels like no one cares anymore.

Once again, no one showed up for the vote. This ecosystem governance is really a bit awkward.

The lack of enough voters basically boils down to the community's lack of activity. Everyone is just hoarding coins waiting for appreciation; who cares about governance?
LayerZero fee switch vote did not pass: insufficient votes, the protocol function remains in the closed state
