SBF continues to seek pardon in Tucker Carlson's podcast
Odaily Planet Daily News Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried recently appeared on Tucker Carlson’s podcast, the latest stop on his media image makeover journey. In the program, SBF claimed that part of the reason he was sentenced to 25 years in prison was his increasingly close relationship with the Republican Party before his arrest. In 2020, I was slightly left of center, donating to Biden’s campaign. SBF said, but by the end of 2022, my private donations to the Republican Party equaled those to the Democratic Party. This became known around the time of the FTX collapse, which may have had some impact. In fact, SBF has donated over 40 million US dollars to 196 members of Congress, including high-level Republicans and Democrats, equivalent to one-third of the members receiving funding from him. He also criticized former SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and the regulatory approach to the cryptocurrency industry in an interview. During the SBF trial, a Google document was exposed, showing that he had considered various ways to reshape his image, including publicly criticizing political correctness and appearing on the Tucker Carlson show to indicate that he is a Republican. Now, with the background of the Republican control of Washington, this strategy is being implemented. According to reports, SBF’s parents - former Stanford Law School professor Barbara Fried and Joseph Bankman - are meeting with lawyers and others in Trump’s circle in an attempt to secure a presidential pardon for their son. SBF recently also made comments on social media about the difficulty of layoffs, which has been criticized by the crypto community as an attempt to curry favor with the Trump administration.
