Lincoln arrived in Jordan to attend an emergency meeting on the Syrian issue

On December 12th, Jinshi data, the US Secretary of State Blinken arrived in Jordan on Thursday to attend an emergency meeting on the Syrian issue. Blinken will meet with Jordanian Foreign Minister Safadi and King Abdullah, as the region and the United States are working to address the potential impact of the sudden collapse of the Assad regime. Blinken plans to discuss US support for a ‘Syrian-led, inclusive transition to a responsible representative government.’ He will also promote the four principles expected by the US for the Syrian transitional government and the new government: ‘a clear commitment to fully respect the rights of minorities, promote humanitarian assistance to all those in need, prevent Syria from being used as a terrorist base or posing a threat to neighboring countries, and ensure the safeguarding and safe disposal of any chemical or biological weapons stockpiles.’ Blinken and Jordanian leaders are also expected to discuss the broader situation in the region, including efforts for ceasefire and the Gaza hostage issue.
