Lebanese forces said their observation tower was attacked by Israeli tanks

On October 17th, the Jinshi data, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), issued a statement on October 17th, saying that an Israeli tank fired at a UNIFIL observation tower in the village of Kila in southern Lebanon. The statement said that UNIFIL soldiers in Kila witnessed an Israeli Merkava tank firing at their observation tower that morning. The attack resulted in the destruction of two UNIFIL cameras and damage to the observation tower. The statement reminded the Israeli Defense Forces and all parties concerned of their responsibility to ensure the safety of UN personnel and property and to respect the inviolability of United Nations premises at all times.
