Abstract generation in progress

Oman is promoting economic growth through the National Digital Economy Program, aiming to raise the share of the digital sector to 10% of GDP by 2040. This plan is based on three pillars: digital government, business digital transformation, and digital society. According to Mr. Ali bin Amer al Shaithani (Ministry of Transport, Communications and IT), the digital economy currently contributes about 3% of GDP in 2025.

This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and includes four phases, incorporating digital government integration and the export of digital services. Oman ranks high globally — 1st in cybersecurity, 45th in AI readiness. Notable projects include the National AI Program, the Oman Digital Triangle, and the AI Hub near Muscat Airport. The Green AI Alliance and the Industry 4.0 Revolution Center help Oman aim to become the leading digital innovation hub in the Middle East.
