Putin talks with Syrian regime leaders. Syrian side: willing to resume relations with Russia.

On October 15, Jin10 reported that on local time October 15, Russian President Putin held talks with visiting Syrian regime leader Ahmad Sharrah at the Kremlin. The two sides discussed the current status and development prospects of the political, economic, and cultural relations between Russia and Syria, as well as the recent situation in the Middle East. Putin reiterated the friendly and solid relationship between Syria and Russia. Putin stated that Russia always prioritizes the interests of the Syrian people in its relationship with Syria. Putin pointed out that Syria is going through a difficult time, but the recent parliamentary elections will strengthen cooperation among various political forces. Sharrah thanked Putin for the reception. He noted that Russia and Syria have historical ties. Sharrah also expressed that Syria intends to resume relations with Russia.
