Ukraine intensifies its strikes on Russian energy infrastructure
Jin10 data reported on September 18th that on Thursday, Ukraine intensified its attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, with two Russian refineries being targeted. The Nefteshim-Salavat petrochemical plant, owned by Gazprom, caught fire after being hit by drones. This facility is over 1300 kilometers away from Ukrainian-controlled territory and is one of Ukraine's deep strikes into Russian territory. Ukrainian special operations forces also claimed to have attacked the large Volgograd refinery of Lukoil PJSC located in the Volga region. Since last month, the Ukrainian military has increased drone strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, including refineries, aiming to curb fuel supplies to the front lines. In August, there were at least 13 such attacks, setting a record for the highest number of attacks in a single month since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict; as of now, there have been at least 6 attacks in September.
