The Solana Foundation faces internal criticism regarding its direction and spending.

Abstract generation in progress

Kevin Ricoy, founder of Allmight, sparked controversy in the Solana community by calling on the Solana Foundation to announce a dissolution date. In an open letter, he criticized the Foundation for becoming increasingly detached from the community, organizing lavish events like Breakpoint in Abu Dhabi and New York while small developers lack resources. Ricoy argued that the organization is becoming a "bureaucratic elite," instead of protecting decentralization, and proposed a gradual dissolution, reallocating resources directly to independent teams.

On the contrary, Kash Dhanda (Jupiter) and Akshay BD (Solana Foundation) defend the role of the Foundation, asserting that they contribute significantly to community development, attracting capital and talent. Expensive events are seen as a way to approach the global market. The debate shows that Solana needs to balance between centralized coordination and community initiatives, paving the way for broader participation.
