Bitkraft and Brevan Howard are leading a $30 million funding round into the game studio of the co-creator of EverQuest.

Bitkfraft Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital have co-led a funding round of 30.5 million USD for Distinct Possibility Studios, a new game studio founded by John Smedley, co-creator of EverQuest. This investment will support the development of the AAA shooting game "Reaper Actual," expected to be issued on Steam and Epic Games Store.

The AAA web3 gaming market has been quite quiet lately, but Gunzilla Games' "Off the Grid" made waves last year. Bitkfraft Ventures believes that Smedley could bring about a similar magic as when he created "EverQuest."

In "Reaper Actual," players will engage in PvPvE scenarios, territory wars, and base management on Marova Island. Distinct Possibility Studios has chosen Etherlink, a Layer 2 network on Tezos, to develop this game. Other funds such as Tezos Foundation and Delphi Ventures are also participating in the funding round.
