Sources say that Trump instructed his staff to announce a two-week window to conceal Iran's attack plans.
According to Gate News bot, CNN reported that for several days, President Trump has been inclined to take military action against Iran, but he has instructed senior aides to tell the media that he will decide whether to take action in two weeks, in order to conceal his true intentions.
According to several informed sources, there are reports that the president has made a final decision to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, which has frustrated the president as he believes a two-week timeline could confuse the Iranians and cover up his plans.
On Thursday, Trump decided to make a statement as he was preparing to have lunch with former advisor Steve Bannon, who had publicly questioned America’s involvement. Soon after, his press secretary, Caroline Levitt, walked into the White House briefing room and, following the president’s instructions, indicated to the world that Trump had not yet made up his mind.
Although the final decision was made on Saturday, when the bombers were already in the air, those around Trump believed that he had basically made up his mind a few days earlier to take action against Iran. Trump had been briefed on the attack plans and met personally with his senior national security aides daily, in addition to making multiple phone calls throughout the day.
