World Vision of South Korea is the first company to sell Ethereum after the ban was lifted.
World Vision Korea became the first organization to sell cryptocurrency after South Korea began to relax the order banning crypto transactions for organizations.
According to new regulations from the Financial Services Commission (FSC), non-profit organizations can sell crypto received from donations. Last week, World Vision Korea sold 0.55 ETH (1.431 USD) on the Upbit exchange, through a Kbank account. The FSC requires transparent transactions, anti-money laundering, and donations only through domestic won accounts. Dunamu, the parent company of Upbit, is supporting organizations such as Community Chest of Korea and Love Fruit in receiving and using crypto. World Vision's transactions are part of a campaign to assist underprivileged students. Starting from the end of 2025, listed companies and professional investment organizations will also be allowed to trade crypto.
