A UK judge has issued an injunction against Craig Wright, stating that it brings a legal "quagmire" to the Bitcoin community.

PANews, May 13 - According to Cointelegraph, Edward Mellor, a judge of the High Court in the UK, has issued a comprehensive injunction against Craig Wright, a computer scientist who claims to be “Satoshi Nakamoto,” prohibiting him from continuing to file defamation lawsuits. In the ruling on May 12, Judge Mellor pointed out that Wright’s repeated false statements and aggressive litigation have created legal “dilemmas” for individuals and developers in the Bitcoin community, and he has also attempted to “weaponize the legal system” to intimidate critics. His lawsuits are often based on fabricated evidence, forcing others to spend significant time and money on legal defenses. Previously, in 2021, the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) sued Wright for his long-standing false claims of being the inventor of Bitcoin. In March of last year, a UK court ruled that he was not connected to the creation of Bitcoin, and in December, he was given a one-year suspended sentence for contempt of court. This injunction marks the end of nearly a decade of legal farce, during which Wright also initiated defamation lawsuits against Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and others.
