According to a report from Jinse Finance, Sonic Labs has announced that native USDC and CCTP V2 will be launched on the Sonic Blockchain. After the upgrade, bridging USDC (USDC.e) will automatically convert to native USDC without the need for code changes or asset swaps. It is reported that the related upgrade may take about a week and is expected to pause Sonic Gateway Ethereum and Sonic on-chain USDC (USDC.e) bridging activities on May 6 to facilitate the upgrade to native USDC.
