Sometimes a memo or a tag is required when making deposits/withdrawals of certain currencies, such as MOBI, XLM, BTS, GXS, EOS, and XRP.
How to tell if a memo or a tag is required?
① When making a deposit or a withdrawal, if you do not see a box for a memo or a tag on the page, it's not required to enter MEMO/TAG.
② If you do see a box for a memo or a tag on the page, it is required.
When withdrawing a memo/tag-required coin to Gate, please fill in the correct memo/tag displayed on the corresponding deposit page so that the system can identify and credit the transfer to your account. It must go wrong if you want the funds to arrive at the recipient's address with the required tag or memo left blank or incorrect.
How to make a deposit on App (example: depositing XLM from Wallet.io to Gate)
Step 1: Open your wallet on Wallet.io. Click the top-right "+" icon to add new coins to the coin list.
Step 2: Search “XLM" and add it to configurations.
Step 3: Go to the detail page of XLM. Click on "Send".
Step 4: Fill in the recipient address, deposit amount and the required memo.
Step 5: Open Gate mobile App and log into your account. Go to "Assets" on the bottom right of the front page and click on "Deposit".
Alternatively, you can also go to "Spot Account". Enter and search "XLM". Then click on "Deposit".
Step 6: Click "Onchain Deposit" and select the deposit network.
Step 7: You will see the address and Memo on the XLM deposit page.
Step 8: Copy the XLM deposit address and memo. Paste them on the deposit page in Wallet.io. When the deposit amount is also filled in, click on "Send".
Step 9: After the deposit is completed, you can click on the top-right ledger icon to view deposit details.
How to make a withdrawal on App (withdrawing XLM as an example)
When making a withdrawal, if the recipient platform requires a certain tag or memo, please fill in the tag or memo as required.
Step 1: Open Gate mobile App and log into your account. Go to "Assets" and click on "Withdraw".
Alternatively, you can also go to "Spot Account". Enter and search "XLM". Then click on "Withdraw".
Step 2: Click "Onchain Withdrawal" and select the network.
**Step 3:** On the "Onchain Withdrawal" page, enter the correct address, withdrawal quantity, and the correct memo, then click "Withdraw".
**Note:** Do not enable "Not use memo".
Step 4: If all the information is correct, enter the fund password, SMS code, and Google Authenticator code. Then click "Confirm".
Step 5: After the withdrawal is completed, click on the top-right ledger icon to view withdrawal details.
Note:
(1) The memo/tag must be entered in the “Tag/MEMO” box on the withdrawal page if you need to enter memo/tag.
(2) If you have made a deposit to an address on Gate without entering a memo/tag, you need to submit a ticket providing your UID, a screenshot showing that you have successfully deposited a coin, the correct memo/tag, and the hash value in text format. Our customer service agents will address this as soon as possible.
