Golden Finance reported that Coinbase announced that it played a "key role" in assisting the U.S. Secret Service in tracking and seizing $225 million of stolen Criptomoneda. The case dates back to 2023, related to a human trafficking group suspected of carrying out the "Estafa de pig butchering". Coinbase used on-chain tracking technology to identify the flow of funds and help determine the victims eligible for compensation. This seizure marks the largest Criptomoneda confiscation operation in the history of the U.S. Secret Service. Tether had previously frozen $225 million of related USDT, indicating a total freeze of $2.7 billion of funds related to criminal activities. The Department of Justice expressed gratitude for this cooperation.
