Ondas secures a large order of 3.5 million magnesium for national defense, targeting the 3 billion magnesium market for ground unmanned vehicles.

With the increasing global military and security demands, unmanned ground vehicles ( UGVs ) are rapidly becoming the core of the next-generation battlefield. The American AI and robotics company Ondas Holdings Inc. ( ONDS ) announced on September 22 that its new brand Apeiro has successfully secured a $3.5 million order from a U.S. defense unit, providing multiple rugged UGVs and modular mission traps for security maintenance, logistics support, and tactical operations.

Apeiro unmanned vehicles have been endorsed by defense units, becoming a tactical key player.

Ondas indicates that this contract comes from the U.S. Department of Defense, which will procure multiple UGVs and mission modules developed by Apeiro, covering purposes such as intelligence surveillance (ISR), tactical deployment, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), and logistical support.

Apeiro is a new brand under Ondas that was incorporated in August 2025, focusing on UGV and patented fiber optic communication technology. Within just a few months, it successfully secured a major defense contract, demonstrating strong market potential and officially entering the competitive main battleground of defense technology. After the contract news broke, Ondas' stock price rose by about 8%, closing at $7.26.

Modular design UGV, tactical deployment all in one.

Apeiro's UGV is centered around high modularity, allowing for quick swapping of traps based on mission requirements, including:

ISR Intelligence Monitoring Sensor: Execute reconnaissance, surveillance.

EOD Tactical Tools: Handling explosives and other hazardous materials.

Logistics Transport Module: Supports supply and material transportation.

Patent Optical Fiber Communication System: Anti-interference, does not rely on GPS.

This plug-and-play design allows the military to adjust mission configurations in real-time, significantly enhancing battlefield response efficiency and survivability.

Integrate land and air combat blueprints, advancing multi-domain automated warfare.

Ondas' main strength lies in aerial unmanned systems, and now it integrates Apeiro's UGVs to further promote a multi-domain automated layout that combines land and air. According to Global Market Insights, the global UGV market size is expected to exceed $3 billion, undoubtedly becoming a key growth engine for defense technology investments in the next decade.
