US SUPPORTS CRYPTO COMPANIES APPLYING FOR BANK LICENSES
🔸 US banking regulator leader (OCC) Jonathan Gould said that traditional banks should not prevent crypto companies from applying for bank licenses.
🔸 There have been about 14 new bank charter applications this year, and many of them come from crypto companies.
🔸 Gould stated that digital assets should be treated like other financial businesses, and the banking industry needs to embrace blockchain technology.
🔸 The OCC has just licensed a new crypto bank named Erebor. He also said the OCC is reviewing allegations that banks are cutting off services to crypto businesses.
