The most important thing in investing is not to see yourself as a hero.

1️⃣ Take care of your health: Go with the flow!

Recently, the flu has been rampant, so everyone should take care.
Today, both of our kids caught it too.
After a hospital visit, it was quickly diagnosed.

In the past, I used to get anxious when the kids got sick.
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a big change in my mindset.
Now I can fully accept these things.

Since it’s out of my control,
since catching a cold is inevitable,
why not “enjoy” the process?

Am I not anxious? Not at all!
Because I know that anxiety solves nothing.
Since getting sick is a part of life,
just accept it and get through it.

When they have a fever, let them rest.
Once the fever is gone, go back to normal life:
do some homework, do some crafts, play Zelda,
and enjoy some exclusive parent-child time.

Anxiety doesn’t solve anything.
It only makes you feel worse.
It also makes the kids more nervous,
as if catching a cold was their fault.

Don’t treat your child like a patient.
If you’re relaxed, they’ll feel at ease.

2️⃣ Do investing right: Go with the flow!

Today, I came across that classic quote from Charlie Munger again:

I wish I knew where I was going to die, and then I’d never go there.
If I knew where I was going to die,
I’d never go near that place.

It’s the same with the market:
When the market is tough,
there’s no need to rush, no need to force it,
don’t jump into ponds you’re not good at.

Only do what you understand,
never touch anything outside your circle of competence.

When the market isn’t great,
isn’t that the best time to “build a foundation”?

Know yourself, stay steady, be patient,
and when the time is right, you’ll naturally be in the right place.

To sum it up:
Go with the flow in life, follow the trend in investing.
