Techub News reports that, according to CryptoBriefing, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov stated that Telegram will replace TON Foundation as the largest validator of the TON network, with transaction fees reduced by 6 times to approximately $0.0005.
This is part of the "MTONGA" technical roadmap, which deployed Catchain 2.0 in April, reducing block time from 2.5 seconds to 400 milliseconds.
Telegram first launched TON in 2018, and after regulatory suspension in 2020, it was taken over by the community.
By January 2025, it will become the exclusive blockchain for its Mini App ecosystem.
