I've spent quite a bit of time exploring different metaverse applications over the past few years, and honestly, it's crazy how much it's evolved. At first, everyone was talking about Decentraland and The Sandbox, but now there are so many serious projects launching.

Axie Infinity is definitely what sparked the fire with play-to-earn. People were really making money by playing, which was wild at the time. After that, lots of similar games came out. Roblox remains a giant even though it's not really blockchain-based, just their massive user base speaks for itself.

What interests me now is how each metaverse application is trying to find its angle. RobotEra emphasizes building and monetization, Battle Infinity focuses on combat games with their complete ecosystem. MOBOX has an interesting mix with GameFi and NFTs combined. And Zepeto just became huge in Asia with their customizable avatars.

The Sandbox and Decentraland remain the heavyweights for buying virtual land and creating content. Bloktopia is trying a different concept with its skyscraper structure and VR integration. Mines of Dalarnia is more casual—you just explore dungeons and collect stuff.

Honestly, the metaverse application market has consolidated since 2023. The real projects with solid use cases are still standing, others have disappeared. If you really want to get into it, you need to test several things and see what resonates with you. Each metaverse app has its own vibe and economy; it’s not just hype anymore, it’s become more mature.
