On September 28, multiple well-known asset management companies made concentrated revisions to their Solana ETF application documents, indicating that a spot Solana ETF supporting staking features may be listed within weeks. This Friday, asset management companies such as Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, CoinShares, Bitwise, Grayscale, Canary Capital, and VanEck updated their respective S-1 application documents for the Solana ETF, clarifying the details of staking activities. Fidelity, which manages the second-largest spot Bitcoin ETF (by Assets Under Management), stated in its revised document that it will stake part or all of its Solana holdings to generate returns. This wave of document revisions continues the trend from late August, when multiple issuers modified their documents to allow cash and physical redemptions. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart pointed out that this likely means "there has been active communication between issuers and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)," and added that "the Solana ETF may land on exchanges in the coming days or weeks." Nate Geraci, President of NovaDius Wealth, is also optimistic about this round of revisions, believing that this "sends a positive signal for staking in spot Ethereum ETFs," and expects the Solana ETF "to be approved within two weeks." BlockBeats note: Previously, there were legal structure and filing path differences between the REX-Osprey SOL ETF and a normal spot ETF, as normal crypto spot ETFs file through the S-1 form under the Securities Act of 1933, while REX-Osprey utilized the 1940 Act to launch products quickly, resulting in regulatory uncertainty and potential compliance risks, with lower liquidity and market acceptance.
