The blockchain industry is changing rapidly, and even once-star projects need to keep up with the times. EOS is a typical example; this once-highly-regarded blockchain project is undergoing a significant transformation.

EOS recently announced its rebranding to Vaulta, which is not just a simple brand overhaul but represents a fundamental shift in its strategic direction. Vaulta is no longer fixated on competing through technological advantages, but is instead turning its attention to the financial sector, dedicated to creating a 'Web3 banking operating system.' This system aims to provide professional services for financial institutions and compliant users, showcasing a keen insight into market demands.

This transformation strategy is highly aligned with the current development trends of the cryptocurrency market. As the user base of cryptocurrencies expands, especially with the increased participation of the younger generation, the demand for cross-border payments is experiencing explosive growth. Compared to traditional remittance methods that have fees as high as 6% and slow transaction speeds, the advantages of blockchain technology-supported cross-border payments are evident, with fees as low as 0.1% or less and the ability to achieve transactions in seconds.

Vaulta has also made a series of substantive progress during its transformation process. It has established a partnership with WLFI and secured $6 million in funding, integrating the USD1 stablecoin into the Vaulta network. In addition, Vaulta has collaborated with a subsidiary of China's Fosun Group to provide blockchain financial infrastructure for the Hong Kong financial market, while also launching the cross-border payment solution VirgoPay in partnership with the Canadian digital asset platform VirgoCX.

Currently, the total locked value of Vaulta ( TVL ) has reached 196 million USD, and recently set a historical high of 384 million USD, indicating that the ecosystem is attracting a large inflow of capital.

However, Vaulta's transformation journey has not been smooth sailing. It faces the challenge of changing the public's existing impression of EOS, while also dealing with the increasingly complex global regulatory environment. Nevertheless, Vaulta's attempts at transformation provide new ideas for the entire blockchain industry, demonstrating the proactive strategies of blockchain projects in the face of industry changes.

Vaulta's transformation story has attracted widespread attention in the industry. Whether it can successfully shed the historical burden of EOS and carve out a new territory in the Web3 financial field is worth our continued attention. This transformation is not only related to Vaulta's own development but may also provide useful insights for other blockchain projects that are trapped in development bottlenecks.

It’s doomed, and changing the name won’t save it.

At a glance, it's just another Rug Pull disguised as a banking business.

Changing the name will turn things around? How about something more substantial?
