$DOGE Dogecoin is a peer-to-peer blockchain-based cryptocurrency, launched in 2013.
Dogecoin uses a “proof-of-work” mechanism with the Scrypt algorithm — meaning transactions and “mining” of Doge still go through a mining process, like Bitcoin but with certain technical differences.
The block confirmation time (block time) is very fast — around 1 minute — and transaction fees are relatively low.
Unlike some other cryptocurrencies that have a limited supply, Dogecoin does not have a maximum supply limit — new Dogecoin continues to be created every year.
