The extradition to the United States of Do Kwon, the entrepreneur behind the failed cryptocurrencies Terra and Luna, seems imminent. His defense lawyer said that as soon as March, the South Korean could be in the U.S. to stand trial.

In a court filing in Manhattan federal court, attorney David Patton said Kwon's extradition process "is in its final stages."

Kwon is currently in custody in Montenegro, a Balkan country, for attempting to travel to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on a false passport.

The businessman is accused in the United States and South Korea of promoting a fraud scheme that would have cost the loss of USD 40,000 million. According to prosecutors, Kwon misled investors with information about the Terra blockchain.
