Iran's Supreme Leader Rejects Mediation Proposal

According to senior Iranian officials speaking to Reuters, Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei rejected proposals for “de-escalating tensions or achieving peace” with the United States during a foreign affairs meeting, dismissing proposals relayed to the Iranian Foreign Ministry by intermediaries from both countries. Senior Iranian officials stated that Mojtaba pointed out in the foreign affairs meeting that “now is not the time for peace,” and insisted that the United States and Israel must be defeated and pay reparations.
