Indonesian low-calorie thermal coal prices continue to remain stable

March 17 Indonesian low-calorie thermal coal prices continued to hold steady, with Indonesia’s Q3800 large-vessel FOB benchmark still ranging at $60–$62 per ton. Today, trading in the market remains sluggish, with no obvious release in demand. Downstream buyers’ willingness to purchase remains weak, and the stalemate is hard to break. At this stage, market sentiment and confidence have been hit, and the wait-and-see mood does not ease. It is expected that, in the short term, imported thermal coal prices will continue to run steady. Going forward, it will be necessary to keep a close watch on factors such as end-user procurement plans and the latest quotes from overseas mines. (My Steel Net)
