Wang Yongqi has officially been appointed as Vice President of China Everbright Bank! He is a veteran in the bank's retail sector.
On March 27, Everbright Bank announced that it recently received the “Approval from the National Financial Supervisory Administration regarding the Appointment Qualification of Wang Yongqi, Vice President of Everbright Bank.” The National Financial Supervisory Administration approved Wang Yongqi’s qualification as Vice President of the bank on March 24, 2026.
According to his resume, Wang Yongqi has worked at Everbright Bank for many years and currently serves as a member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee, as well as President of the Beijing Branch. He previously worked at China Construction Bank and has held positions as a member of the Party Committee and Assistant President at Everbright Bank’s Wuxi Branch, Vice President, Deputy General Manager of the Retail Business Department at the head office, Senior Business Director, General Manager, and General Manager of the Retail and Wealth Management Department.
In fact, in addition to Wang Yongqi, Everbright Bank has also promoted another “veteran” simultaneously. In February of this year, Everbright Bank announced that the board of directors approved the appointment of Yang Wenhua as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of the bank. Yang Wenhua’s appointment qualification is still pending regulatory approval.
According to his resume, Yang Wenhua is currently a member of the Party Committee at Everbright Bank, and Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Everbright Technology Co., Ltd. He joined Everbright Bank in 2006 and has served as Assistant General Manager and Deputy General Manager of the Credit Approval Department, General Manager of the Asset Protection Department, General Manager of the Special Asset Management Department, and General Manager of the Legal Compliance Department and Director of the Accountability Committee Office. He also served as Deputy General Manager of the Comprehensive Management Department of the Corporate Banking Headquarters at Citic Industrial Bank and Deputy General Manager of the Risk Policy Department, as well as a Non-Executive Director of China Everbright Bank Co., Ltd. (Europe).
Once Yang Wenhua’s appointment qualification is approved, Everbright Bank will have a management structure of “one president and five vice presidents.” Information from the official website shows that the current senior management team also includes President Hao Cheng, Vice Presidents Qi Ye, Song Bingfang (Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission), Yang Bingbing, Chief Financial Officer Liu Yan, Chief Risk Officer Ma Bo, and Chief Business Director Zhang Xuyang.
Everbright Bank will announce its performance for 2025 soon. In the first three quarters of last year, the bank experienced a decline in both revenue and net profit, with revenue decreasing by 7.94% to 94.27 billion yuan, and net profit declining by 3.40% to 37.278 billion yuan. At the same time, the bank’s non-performing loan ratio rose by 0.01 percentage points from the end of the previous year to 1.26%. However, Everbright Bank stated that its intermediary business income turned from a decrease of 0.9% in the first half of the year to an increase of 2.2% year-on-year, and the proportion of intermediary business income also increased by 1.63 percentage points year-on-year, optimizing the revenue structure.
