Influenced by the Iran war, Spain's inflation rate jumps.
Spain’s inflation rate surged in March, highlighting that the energy shock triggered by the war between the United States and Israel and Iran has begun to transmit to prices across the Eurozone.
According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) released on Friday, the year-on-year increase in consumer prices was 3.3%, accelerating from the 2.5% rate in February.
Last month’s inflation rate remained at its lowest level since February 2025, with rising food prices offset by falling electricity prices. However, the outbreak of the war in Iran has led to a recent spike in fuel, electricity, and natural gas prices.
