SAIC Motor's first humanoid robot is deployed on the production line

On March 27, SAIC Motor Corporation’s first humanoid robot employee—“Nengzi No. 1”—officially began working on the Buick Electra E7 battery production line, taking on core processes such as cell handling and feeding. This is the first real-world application of a humanoid robot in production line by SAIC Motor Corporation.

The humanoid robot was jointly developed by SAIC General Motors and ZhiYuan Robotics, featuring humanoid characteristics such as visual perception, dual-arm coordination, and force-controlled grasping. It can autonomously complete tasks like material recognition for battery cells and intelligent planning of grasping paths without relying on fixed programming and precise positioning of incoming materials.
