On March 24, the first industry standard for “embodied intelligent engineering robots” in China was initiated in Chengdu, Sichuan. This industry standard is expected to be completed and published within this year, filling the gap in the intelligent engineering robot industry, establishing unified standards for product technology evaluation, safety specifications, and large-scale applications, and promoting the industry from “technology research and development” to “rule formulation.” At the event, the Chengdu Humanoid Robot Innovation Center also released the world’s first multimodal large model for embodied intelligent engineering robots. This model overcomes the challenges of multi-machine collaboration and efficient scheduling across different machine types on engineering sites, possessing core advantages such as multi-machine collaboration, multi-source data analysis, and autonomous intelligent decision-making. It achieves a leap from “perceptual intelligence” to “system decision-making intelligence,” providing essential “brain” support for multi-robot cluster operations on engineering sites and marking a significant breakthrough in the engineering application of embodied intelligent technology. This also signifies that China has taken a crucial step from technological breakthroughs to industrial applications in solving intelligent construction and operation and maintenance challenges in high-altitude and extreme environments.
