Swiss food giant Nestlé has stated that a truck carrying over 12 tons of KitKat chocolate was stolen while being transported in Europe, which may affect the chocolate supply during the Easter holiday.

Foreign media reported that the stolen chocolate is from the new Formula One series of KitKat.

Nestlé confirmed in a statement that a truck carrying more than 410,000 bars of KitKat chocolate was stolen last week while en route from an Italian factory to Poland, and both the vehicle and cargo are currently missing, with no injuries reported in the incident. This batch of chocolate was intended to be distributed throughout Europe.

Nestlé indicated that while they appreciate the culprits’ excellent taste, the problem of cargo theft is becoming increasingly serious and may impact chocolate supply. The company is currently working with authorities and supply chain partners to investigate. The missing chocolate may enter the European market through unofficial sales channels, and the public can scan the batch code on the products to track and identify whether they are stolen goods.
