Yunnan releases a three-year action plan for high-quality development of the electricity market
People’s Financial News, March 29 - According to the Yunnan Provincial Energy Bureau, on March 26, the National Energy Administration’s Yunnan Supervision Office, the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and the Yunnan Provincial Energy Bureau jointly issued the “Three-Year Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Yunnan Power Market (2026-2028).” This plan closely aligns with the requirements for deepening power system reform and fully supports the construction of a unified national power market system. Through systematic and innovative mechanism design, it focuses on strengthening collaborative construction in five key areas: “market structure, market mechanisms, price systems, operational systems, and governance systems.” With “new, green, integrated, and advanced” as key approaches, it proactively defines four dimensions of landmark achievements for the three-year action plan: “innovative, promotional, research-oriented, and exploratory.” This provides solid support for Yunnan’s energy and power transformation from a resource-rich province to a market-strong province, and from a clean energy base to an international regional green energy hub, effectively serving the national energy strategy and “dual carbon” goals, and promoting high-quality development of regional economic integration.
