Stretchable multimodal flexible electronic skin to be applied in embodied intelligent robots and dexterous hands, a SPECT/PET/CT integrated machine with dynamic imaging capability supporting millisecond-level 4D imaging, and the first cross-regional rail transit line in Beijing and Hebei with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour… At the ongoing 2026 Zhongguancun Forum annual conference, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development exhibition area made its debut at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center. A relevant official from the Beijing Development and Reform Commission stated that in January of this year, the space coordination plan for the modern capital metropolitan area was approved, and the three regions are accelerating efforts to tackle “bottlenecks” and proactively layout future industries such as commercial aerospace, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and humanoid robots, continuously cultivating new economic growth points.

Multiple innovative products showcased

It is reported that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development exhibition area was jointly planned by the joint organizing committee of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, focusing on the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, and consists of three sections: “Optimizing and improving the functional layout of one core and two wings,” “Accelerating the construction of a modern capital metropolitan area,” and “Creating more resilient and vibrant industrial chain clusters.” Through panels, exhibits, videos, and other formats, the exhibition showcases the new achievements of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development from multiple perspectives.

The exhibition area displayed a number of representative exhibits, such as the stretchable multimodal flexible electronic skin developed by Tujian Technology, which is supported by the national disruptive technology innovation special project, integrating 400 sensors per square centimeter, with a spatial resolution as low as 0.5 millimeters, capable of accurately capturing full-dimensional tactile information such as force, temperature, and texture. It also features excellent characteristics such as a lifespan of over 1 million uses and resistance to water and impact, which will be applied in embodied intelligent robots and dexterous hands. The SPECT/PET/CT integrated machine jointly developed by Hebei Ruishi Xinhe, Tsinghua University, and Tianjin Tumor Hospital is a conversion result of a national major scientific research instrument development project, with 100% of its core components being independently controllable, completing full-body accurate quantitative imaging within 10 minutes of a single scan, and dynamic imaging capability supporting millisecond-level 4D imaging. The trains of the Rail Transit Line 22 were independently developed by Beijing Rail Transit Technology Equipment Group, and the Beijing Investment Equipment Hebei Jingche Intelligent Manufacturing Base produced them, using a configuration of 8 city-type D cars with a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour and an operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Rail Transit Line 22 is the first cross-regional rail transit line in Beijing and Hebei, with the Hongmiao-Pinggu Station expected to have the conditions for opening by the end of this year.

As a major national strategy, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development has achieved a series of important results over the past 12 years, with the regional economic total expected to reach nearly 12 trillion yuan by 2025. A relevant official from the Beijing Development and Reform Commission introduced that Beijing insists on advancing through release, creating more space for innovative development. Efficiently utilizing released space to cultivate new momentum, the Beijing Zoo wholesale market has been upgraded to a national-level financial technology demonstration zone, gathering 280 related enterprises and institutions. Xiong’an New Area is creating an innovation highland and entrepreneurial hotbed, with three central enterprise headquarters settling in Xiong’an, and the first batch of four relocated universities entering a large-scale construction phase, gradually forming a complete innovation ecological chain in the aerospace information industry from technological research and development, achievement transformation, scenario application to industrial landing. The leading function of technological innovation in the city’s sub-center continues to strengthen, and the integrated reform pilot plan for market-oriented allocation of factors has been approved by the State Council, with the national green technology trading center unveiled, accelerating the aggregation of high-quality technological innovation resources.

Three regions accelerate tackling “bottlenecks”

In January of this year, the space coordination plan for the modern capital metropolitan area was approved, and the three regions of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei are accelerating the high-quality construction and development of commuting circles, functional circles, and industrial coordination circles. In promoting the integrated development of the commuting circle, efforts are being made to accelerate the construction of a high-quality development demonstration area for the integration of Tongzhou District and the northern three counties, promoting industrial innovation development in the Tongwu-Lang area. The three regions are working together to construct the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei intelligent connected new energy vehicle technology ecological port, with each establishing a supporting park for components in Shunyi, Wuqing, and Langfang, signing a total of 47 projects. In promoting innovative breakthroughs in the functional circle, the Beijing-Tianjin “Double City Chronicles” is being written, actively cultivating an innovation triangle among Beijing, Tianjin, and Xiong’an, with over 6,600 enterprises settled in Tianjin Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park, over 2,000 in Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science City, and 268 in Xiong’an New Area Zhongguancun Science Park. In deepening the linked development of the industrial coordination circle, efforts are made to strengthen the mutual promotion of advantages among node cities, with 950 enterprises settled in the Baoding-Zhongguancun Innovation Center. Key industrial cooperation platforms are being upgraded, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei-Cangzhou biomedical industrial park has attracted 70 pharmaceutical companies to settle.

The three regions are accelerating tackling “bottlenecks,” jointly releasing two batches of tackling projects where “leadership is revealed,” achieving full coverage in tackling bottlenecks, with over 340 component enterprises added to the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle industrial chain; the hydrogen energy industrial chain is basically integrated across the entire chain of “production, storage, transportation, and use.” The energy level of the “seven major” advanced manufacturing industry clusters is rapidly improving, with the output value of the new generation information technology application innovation cluster exceeding 1.6 trillion yuan and the total output value of the traditional Chinese medicine industry in the life and health cluster reaching 400 billion yuan. At the same time, the three regions are proactively laying out future industries such as commercial aerospace, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, and humanoid robots, continuously cultivating new economic growth points.

In addition, the technology financial service chain is being improved rapidly, with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei financial and enterprise financing matchmaking conference held for three consecutive years, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei venture capital guidance fund being established. Efforts are made to promote the reasonable flow of talent factors and to build a talent innovation corridor between Beijing and Xiong’an. The role of social organizations is being leveraged to assist in the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Advanced Manufacturing Industry Cluster Alliance officially unveiled. The regional business environment continues to improve, with 73 administrative service halls in the three regions achieving “cross-regional handling,” and 209 qualification mutual recognitions.

A relevant official from the Beijing Development and Reform Commission stated that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development exhibition area focuses on optimizing and improving the functional layout of “one core and two wings,” accelerating the construction of a modern capital metropolitan area, and creating a more resilient and vibrant industrial chain cluster in an orderly manner, achieving smooth flow of innovative factor resources and forming stronger development momentum. Looking ahead, the three provinces and cities will stand at a new starting point, seize the opportunity of expanding the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei international science and technology innovation center, strengthen industrial innovation coordination and collaboration, and jointly contribute to building modernization with Chinese characteristics.
