iRobot debuts at AWE 2026, showcasing new robot vacuum cleaner products for the first time, and officially announces accelerated localization strategy in the Chinese market.
From March 12 to 15, 2026, the China Household Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE 2026) will be grandly held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, gathering over 1,200 of the world’s top enterprises. As the pioneer of the global robotic vacuum category, iRobot will make its significant debut at the AWE exhibition, not only showcasing the global premiere of a new generation of robotic vacuums tailored for the Chinese market but also fully demonstrating its thirty-plus years of technological accumulation and its firm commitment to developing the Chinese market through immersive booth design and brand philosophy.
At this exhibition, the brand booth created by iRobot in the E1 Hall’s smart cleaning appliances area became the focal point of the entire event. Centered around the core concept of “from technological innovation to real-world application,” the booth features a creatively designed “Robotic Vacuum Museum” immersive exhibition area, fully presenting the brand’s thirty-plus years of robot research and development history: from the world’s first mass-produced household robotic vacuum, Roomba, to classic models from the brand’s various generations, as well as previously undisclosed technological prototypes, clearly outlining iRobot’s technological evolution path as a category pioneer, attracting a large number of viewers, industry partners, and media presence.
Creating Products for Chinese Users: Global Premiere of Customized New Products
The core highlight of this exhibition is the global premiere of iRobot’s new generation of robotic vacuums specifically designed for the Chinese market. This is the first product that iRobot has completely tailored to the cleaning scenarios, living environments, and user habits of Chinese households, and it represents the brand’s sincere commitment to deepening its presence in the Chinese market. Addressing the cleaning needs for hard floors in Chinese households, complex room layouts, and detailed cleaning pain points, the new product embodies iRobot’s core technological accumulation over thirty-plus years, achieving breakthrough upgrades in smart navigation, cleaning efficiency, scene adaptability, and local user experience.
The new product showcased is the iRobot Roomba 615, which is iRobot’s first AI-enhanced spraying mop robot. Through AI-enhanced spraying, it precisely dissolves tough stains, while the 60°C constant pressure hot mopping system improves cleaning efficiency by up to 40%; utilizing iRobot’s self-developed real-time self-cleaning system, it washes while mopping, effectively removing stubborn stains such as grease, milk tea, and coffee. It also features a flagship-level suction power of 30,000Pa, effortlessly sucking up pet hair, cat litter, and snack crumbs. The 3-bristle anti-tangle edge brush combined with a hair-cutting sweep ensures no hair tangles; it can identify dirt with AI, using embedded laser radar and AI vision modules to scan the home environment comprehensively, accurately recognizing over 300 types of obstacles, cleaning without collisions, and intelligently categorizing cleaning tasks; edge sweeping + a mechanical arm roller achieves millimeter-level edge cleaning, covering corners, with the mechanical arm roller dynamically extending 45mm to clean edges. On this basis, its base station is equipped with a ten-fold decontamination and antibacterial system: 80°C hot water soaking, 55°C gentle air drying, self-cleaning roller brush, waterproof filter, silver ion module, tray cleaning reminders, and automatic water injection at the base station. It also has a powerful 35mm obstacle-crossing capability. The AI cleaning management system intelligently assesses the dirt level in each room, automatically adjusts the cleaning mode, and optimizes the cleaning sequence. This product is expected to be launched in April.
Adhering to a Rational Technological Perspective with User Needs at the Center, Returning to the Essence of Cleaning
At this AWE exhibition, iRobot conveyed its rational and pragmatic technological philosophy that the brand has always adhered to. The brand firmly believes that the core value of smart cleaning products lies in returning to the essence of cleaning; the commercialization of cutting-edge technology must focus on solving real user pain points, rejecting concept piling and meaningless parameter stacking that detaches from user needs. In the next 1-2 years, iRobot will continue to refine the ultimate product experience, consistently building the brand’s core competitiveness around user needs, bringing users more efficient and hassle-free smart cleaning solutions.
Sending Strong Signals to Accelerate Localization Efforts in the Chinese Market
During the exhibition, iRobot sent strong signals regarding its commitment to the Chinese market. The brand made it clear that the Chinese market is a core strategic component of iRobot’s global layout, and in the future, it will create a complete product matrix specifically for Chinese users based on a profound understanding of their cleaning needs.
iRobot China CEO Yang Kaiqi stated: “This AWE debut is a concentrated display of iRobot’s thirty-plus years of technological accumulation and marks a new starting point for the brand’s comprehensive commitment to the Chinese market. Since its establishment, user orientation has always been iRobot’s core characteristic. In the future, we will continue this brand gene, focusing on technological innovation and anchoring on user needs, continuously creating more valuable smart cleaning products for the Chinese market, leading the industry towards high-quality development.”
From robotic technology dreams emerging from MIT laboratories to defining the robotic vacuum category and driving the industry from 0 to 1, and now launching customized products for China at AWE, iRobot’s participation in this exhibition is not only a concentrated showcase of technology and products but also a solemn declaration of brand renewal and deepening the Chinese market. As the pioneer of the global robotic vacuum industry, iRobot will continue to uphold its technological mission, creating higher-quality smart cleaning solutions for Chinese users and growing alongside the Chinese market.
