Press TV released the last footage of Iran’s former supreme leader Khamenei before he was assassinated on March 27.

The report states that this is footage from just minutes before Khamenei’s martyrdom, and it is the last photo captured by the surveillance camera in his office.

The Hindustan Times also cited the report of this photo. However, hours later, Press TV deleted the post.

On February 28, the United States and Israel suddenly attacked Iran, launching a large-scale airstrike against the country. Iran confirmed on March 1 that the US-Israeli attack on Khamenei occurred earlier on February 28, stating that Khamenei “died as a martyr at his post in the leader’s office,” and that four relatives, including his daughter and son-in-law, were killed.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Israeli and American intelligence operatives had been waiting for an opportunity to gather important Iranian officials for a meeting. Intelligence learned that Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials would meet in Tehran on the morning of February 28, after which Israeli fighter jets struck the meeting location, killing Khamenei, Defense Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Mohammad Pakpour, and Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.

Iran strongly retaliated against the United States and Israel, marking the beginning of the US-Israeli war, which continues to this day.

On March 8, Iran elected Mojtaba as the new supreme leader, with the announcement made on March 9. President Trump has opposed Mojtaba becoming the new supreme leader of Iran because he would continue a hardline strategy against the US and Israel. Mojtaba has close ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran’s election of Khamenei’s son as the new supreme leader sends a signal of fighting to the bitter end. This move openly challenges Trump’s stance and indicates that Tehran will not back down in its war with the US and Israel. Mojtaba, with close ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, is expected to take a confrontational stance against the West.

On March 12, Mojtaba issued his first statement after taking office through national television. He stated that Iran would continue to hold the enemy accountable and seek “revenge” for the victims.
