Lei Jun resigns as Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Kingsoft Cloud; I have confirmed there are no disagreements.
Kingsoft Cloud announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that Lei Jun has resigned as a non-executive director due to other work commitments, effective March 25. After Lei Jun’s resignation as a non-executive director, he will also no longer serve as chairman, a member of the board nomination committee, and a member of the board remuneration committee. Kingsoft Cloud stated that Lei Jun has confirmed there are no disagreements between him and the company’s board of directors.
It is reported that Lei Jun has served as a non-executive director of Kingsoft Cloud since 2012 and has held the position of chairman since 2015.
At the same time, the board announced that vice chairman Zou Tao has been appointed as chairman and member of the nomination committee, and Qu Heng has been appointed as a non-executive director, as well as a member of the nomination committee and the remuneration committee.
The resume shows that Zou Tao has been a director of Kingsoft Cloud since December 2016 and has served as the acting chief executive officer since August 2022. Zou Tao is a veteran of the “Kingsoft system.” In 1998, Zou Tao joined Kingsoft Software Limited (along with its subsidiaries collectively referred to as Kingsoft Software Group) and has since held several senior positions at Kingsoft Software Group.
Qu Heng joined Xiaomi Group in 2010 and served as the general manager of the ecological chain department from 2018 to 2023. He is currently the vice president of Xiaomi Group and a member of the group technology committee. Qu Heng has also held multiple positions within the “Kingsoft system,” including serving as an engineer, development manager, and project manager at Beijing Kingsoft Software Limited from 2005 to 2010.
Kingsoft Cloud is a leading independent cloud service provider in China under Kingsoft Software, focusing on full-stack cloud services + AI intelligent computing, with deep roots in industries such as gaming, video, government affairs, and finance. Kingsoft Cloud was founded in 2012, went public on NASDAQ in May 2020, and completed a dual primary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in December 2022 through an introduction. Lei Jun is the founder and chairman of Kingsoft Cloud.
