Did the unit leaders pressure for a settlement? The man who reported the Land Rover tailgating incident claims to be bombarded with calls pleading for leniency.
Ask AI · What hidden truths lie behind the identity of the pressure exertion behind phone bombardment?
On December 10, 2025, Mr. Lv, a resident of Changchun, was rear-ended after being cut off 8 times in one minute by a Range Rover, resulting in repair costs of nearly 100,000. The case has undergone several reversals: “not filed—administrative filing—investigation halted—ordered to re-investigate.”
On March 19, Mr. Lv sought help again from @Elephant News: starting at 7:40 AM, someone claiming to be a police officer from Guilin Road knocked on his door. He refused entry and used a broom to block the door. At 1:23 PM, feeling helpless, he called the police, and the Caiwei Police Station sent officers to persuade the person to leave. The police responded: “It was police officers from the Public Security Bureau knocking on the door; it’s a normal case procedure with no other way.”
Mr. Lv claimed that after media reports, his personal information was likely leaked. Both he and his wife’s phones were “bombarded” by calls from someone claiming to be the mother of the Range Rover driver as well as unknown numbers. His workplace leaders and father-in-law, an old leader, all pressured him to settle, saying, “I dare not accept the compensation, fearing being counter-sued for extortion.”
On the same day, the Chaoyang District Judicial Bureau informed Mr. Lv: “The evidence for the case has been reviewed.” Currently, Mr. Lv is still waiting for the results of the re-investigation. Elephant News will continue to follow up.
