U.S. Chess Champion Hikaru Stays Ahead of the S&P Thanks to Tech, Oil and Health Stocks

It’s been a tough few weeks for investors and stock pickers, but U.S. Chess champion Hikaru Nakamura is keeping his head well above water in his TipRanks investment portfolio.

Overall, Hikaru’s portfolio has a total return of 2.1%. It is up 3.1% over the S&P 500. Ten out of 18 transactions have made a profit.

  • Intel INTC +0.05% ▲ – He bought 250 shares on September 26, 2025. It represents 9.95% of his overall holdings. He is sitting on a gain of 23.13% helped by the AI drive.

  • Alphabet GOOGL +0.39% ▲ – He bought 40 shares on September 16, 2025. It represents 10.84% of his overall holdings. He is sitting on a 19.47% gain helped by the tech and AI drive.
