On the Telegram platform, the digital art NFT “Papa Hatt,” supervised by former UFC Lightweight Champion Habib Nurmagomedov, has concluded a major auction. According to RBC, this unique collaboration has generated buzz within the crypto community and achieved success far beyond expectations.

Scale and Value of the Digital Papa Hatt Sale

This NFT project, which fully sold out on November 23, distributed 29,000 digital items over 290 cycles. The average price per item was 10,100 “Stars,” equivalent to about 103 TON Coins or $150 USD. As a result, total sales exceeded $4.35 million, marking a notable achievement among sports-related digital collectibles.

A New Initiative with TON Network and NFTs

The technical feature of this project is that it was issued directly on the The Open Network (TON) blockchain. Buyers used “Stars” or TON Coins to acquire the items, and they can also resell them on external NFT marketplaces. This setup enables both utilization within the Telegram ecosystem and liquidity in the broader crypto asset market.

Telegram’s Vision for Socially Significant Digital Assets

Telegram founder Pavel Durov described these digital Papa Hats as “NFTs with social significance beyond mere monetary value.” The Papa Hatt is a cultural symbol of the Caucasus region, and through the legendary UFC athlete, it reaches the global crypto community. This approach differs from traditional sports NFTs or celebrity collectibles, exemplifying the fusion of cultural heritage and blockchain technology.
