A large number of illegally parked vehicles blocked the green belt under the bridge, causing the plants that were replanted to die due to long-term lack of watering. Recently, the horticulture and landscaping staff in Hongshan District helplessly appealed to the Wuhan City Message Board, hoping that relevant departments will promptly clear the illegally parked vehicles to ensure daily landscaping operations. On the 23rd, the Hongshan District Traffic Management Brigade responded that all illegally parked vehicles at the scene had been cleared, and management would be strengthened in the future.

Photos and information provided by the complainant show that on the morning of March 20th, a water truck was working under Jian’an Street Bridge near Hongqi Xinjv District in Hongshan District, preparing to water the plants in the flower beds. However, because the entire line of flower beds was occupied by illegally parked vehicles, the spray nozzles of the water truck could not reach the plants inside the flower beds.

The complainant introduced that he is a staff member of the horticulture and landscaping department in Hongshan District. The issue under Jian’an Street Bridge has existed for a long time. Many plants in the flower beds have completely died due to inability to water them, which is why he helplessly sought help. “After the construction barriers were removed at this site last August, we replanted some plants at the edge of the flower beds. Since then, a large number of vehicles have been illegally parked, making it impossible to water the plants, and there is no rainwater in the space under the bridge. Now, all the plants have withered.”

In the afternoon of the 20th, a reporter from Jupai News visited the scene and confirmed that the situation described by the complainant was true. On both sides of Jian’an Street Bridge, along the green belt and sidewalk, there were many parked vehicles. There are prominent “No Parking” signs on the roadside, and there is an open parking lot. However, the parking lot’s utilization rate is less than 10%. The reporter observed that there are indeed large patches of withered and fallen plants along the edge of the green belt under the bridge.

The reporter contacted the Hongshan District Traffic Management Brigade regarding this matter. Staff said they had recorded the relevant information and would arrange for disposal as soon as possible. On the morning of the 23rd, the Hongshan District Traffic Management Brigade responded that all illegally parked vehicles at the scene had been cleared, and management of this section would be strengthened in the future.

Horticulture staff reported that illegal parking prevented the water truck from operating.
