Tom Lee and BitMine Continue Accumulating ETH Amid Crypto Market Adjustments
Tom Lee, the leader of BitMine, a former Bitcoin mining company, recently ordered an additional 60,976 ETH, valued at approximately $123 million. This increase brings BitMine’s total ETH holdings to 4,535,563 coins, currently worth over $9 billion based on today’s trading prices.
Tom Lee’s Long-Term Strategy for ETH Accumulation
Notably, Tom Lee and the BitMine team maintain an average cost basis of $3,700 per ETH. This means that the unrealized losses amount to billions of dollars. However, with a 3.76% stake in the total Ethereum supply, BitMine signals long-term confidence in the future of the coin. Besides ETH investments, the company holds diverse assets including 195 BTC, a $200 million investment in Beast Industries, $14 million in Eightco Holdings, and $1.2 billion in cash reserves.
Ethereum Price Path Analysis: Insights from Tom DeMark
Top technical analyst and BitMine advisor Tom DeMark has drawn a detailed comparison between Ethereum’s trajectory in 2026 and the historical behavior of the S&P 500 index, especially during late autumn of 1987 and 2011. Tom Lee confirmed that the correlation levels of these patterns are 89% for 2011 and 93% for 1987, respectively.
If this historical comparison remains relevant, ETH could test a new support level below $1,750, aligning with what experts call a “small crypto winter” market environment. Therefore, BitMine’s strategy emphasizes increasing ETH accumulation during market phases that are at the peak of the cycle.
Market Volatility and Recent Recovery
Ethereum has shown resilience over the past few hours, testing the $2,000 level after sharp fluctuations caused by international events. The current price is around $2.15K, up 3.73% in the last 24 hours. However, the main resistance at $2,200, observed last week, remains a barrier that ETH has yet to break decisively.
While short-term volatility persists, Tom Lee’s strategy continues to focus on long-term investment, emphasizing ETH accumulation during periods where technical analysis and fundamental data suggest the market is in the final stages of a cycle correction.
