IT House, March 11 — According to The Register, the U.S. Army initially attempted to deploy Microsoft HoloLens headsets on the battlefield, but due to poor feedback from many soldiers and reports of physical discomfort, the military’s plan to use the headsets in combat has been halted. The product may now be repurposed as a military logistics tool.

IT House notes that Microsoft actually stopped producing the HoloLens 2 headset two years ago and announced its complete exit from the HoloLens hardware business in February last year. Support for existing customers will continue until the end of 2027.
