State Administration for Market Regulation: Increase Efforts to Eliminate Regional Protectionism and Market Segmentation, Thoroughly Rectify "Involution-Style" Competition

People’s Financial News, March 19 — The State Administration for Market Regulation announced that on March 19, the 2026 Anti-Monopoly Work Conference was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The meeting emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the “14th Five-Year Plan.” To effectively carry out anti-monopoly work, efforts should focus on advancing the construction of a unified national market, continuously deepening fair competition governance, breaking down local protectionism and market segmentation, standardizing market competition order, thoroughly addressing “involution-style” competition, expanding international exchanges, improving institutional mechanisms, and continuously enhancing regulatory effectiveness. In serving national strategies, new responsibilities should be demonstrated, and new initiatives should be achieved in seizing international competition opportunities, contributing positively to high-quality development and ensuring a good start for the “14th Five-Year Plan.”
